Abstract: The quantum computing community has made remarkable progress in advancing quantum hardware, but achieving practical impact will require more than larger quantum processors. As scalable and modular quantum systems emerge, attention is increasingly turning toward the software, algorithms, and orchestration technologies needed to integrate quantum resources with HPC and AI infrastructure. This talk examines the evolving relationship between hardware scaling and computational architecture, highlighting the growing importance of quantum-centric supercomputing and heterogeneous workflows. Particular emphasis will be placed on the opportunities this transition creates for researchers in algorithms, software systems, and scientific computing.
