- Dr. David Hayes (Quantinuum)
Quantinuum is building trapped-ion based quantum computers, and recently released its third generation commercial device. In this talk, I will review the current generation's architecture - including some of the infrastructure to run the computer, the ion-trap geometry and concept of operations, software advances, and some performance metrics. Additionally, I will discuss some initial technology demonstrations that include quantum simulation experiments, cryptographic protocols, and advances in quantum error detection and correction. Finally, I will discuss what the newest generation implies about the path toward large scale quantum computers.
