Measuring the particle direction in experiments has been instrumental in unraveling the nature of the Universe. In this talk I will describe the importance of electron direction in modern experiments, then how electron direction can be measured, focusing on the time projection chamber (TPC). I will then provide an update to my research into gas electron multiplier (GEM) optical effects as observed in optical TPCs (OTPCs). Lastly, I will describe what I will work on through my PhD, a new experiment using OTPCs to set angular resolution limits for electron direction.
